If it isn’t for the virus, students, interns, and volunteers are given the chance and a slot to experience first-hand practice on what we do. We allow individuals to be fully immersed with the people we help. We also bring them to areas not only in the Metro but as well as in projects in various parts of Visayas and Mindanao.
The HLAF Internship Program offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain direct practical experience with HLAF’s work and advocacies. The Internship opportunity is available online due to the COVID-19 community restrictions.
We have handled over 200 undergraduate student interns, more than 500 law student interns, and 100 volunteers all over the Philippines.
Our digital data archive shows that the individual population comes from schools and institutions such as Ateneo de Manila University, Ateneo de Naga University, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Far Eastern University, University of Santo Tomas, University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi, De La Salle University-Dasmarinas, De La Salle University-Manila, De La Salle University-College of Saint Benilde, Universidad de Manila, University of the Philippines, San Beda University, Centro Escolar University, Bulacan State University, Batangas State University among others.
All students who will be taking their internship are qualified to apply. The Executive Director together with the Program Officer-in-charge will assess the capability and the skills of the applicant through an initial short interview process. Afterward, the summative evaluation of the interview will be shared with the staff of HLAF which will be decided. An official email with the subject of the Acceptance Letter will be sent if the applicant qualifies for the internship.
The HLAF internship program offers 200, 300, and 600 hours of work. If the applicant is pursuing the internship as an academic requirement, he/she will provide the necessary requirements together with his/her email application. All applications should only be sent to info@hlaf.org.ph with the subject “Internship Application” together with the applicant’s CV and Cover Letter addressed to Atty. Rommel Alim Abitria, HLAF Executive Director.
The evaluation team will assess applications based on: eligibility requirements, the relevance of the academic study and work experience; and the level of interest and motivation to contribute to development work.
We consider no discrimination on any gender, institutional representation, and nationality in the overall internship selection process.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
