On March 15, 2025, the Humanitarian Legal Assistance Foundation (HLAF) proudly hosted its PAMANA (Paggunita sa Matagumpay Nating Pagpapanumbalik) activity in Quezon City, an event marking the remarkable journey of the Focused Reintegration of Ex-Detainees (FRED) Program. Celebrating ten years of championing second chances, restorative justice, and the reintegration of persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) into society, PAMANA highlighted the meaningful impact HLAF has had in transforming lives and restoring hope.
Over the past decade, HLAF has empowered ex-detainees through comprehensive psycho-social support, family healing initiatives, community engagement, and personalized reintegration journeys. Through collaboration with duty bearers, jail personnel, and dedicated advocates, HLAF has worked tirelessly to provide second chances that not only rehabilitate individual lives but also strengthen communities.
During the heartfelt anniversary celebration, HLAF Executive Director Atty. Jean Aubree Ruby Sadural expressed her deepest gratitude to everyone who has played a vital role in the program’s success. She acknowledged the invaluable contributions of HLAF’s past and present staff, partner organizations, and the countless individuals who have offered their time, talents, and trust to the cause.
The event was not only a celebration of achievements but also a collective affirmation of HLAF’s commitment to continue building bridges for persons restored to liberty (PRLs). As Atty. Sadural concluded, “To everyone who has been part of this decade-long mission—thank you for believing in second chances.”
The PAMANA event serves as a poignant reminder of the transformative power of support, collaboration, and hope in the lives of those striving for redemption and reintegration. With unwavering determination, HLAF looks forward to the next chapter of empowering individuals and fostering resilient communities, proving that every journey to restoration can lead to a brighter future.
