The purpose of Paralegal Training met its goal to qualify a PDL to share their knowledge to other PDLs as they already learned the basics of courses taught to them during the training, i.e., Introduction to Law, Criminal Procedure, Letter and Affidavit Making.
Our very own Kuya Lucky, the PDL who was able to become a speaker, told HLAF that through the Basic Orientation Seminar, he was able to have a refresher, which made him more understand the past courses taught to them. His topic was Introduction to Law which he told HLAF that it should be taught to every individual as it clarifies the basic laws.
In Bisaya Language, he told HLAF that they were very thankful to the basic knowledges that they currently gained. At first, he only joined because he wants to be freed, and he’s not interested at all because what can he benefit from the free legal training? However, when discussion and lecture happened, it somehow made him feel interested about the laws. Through the training, he felt that he is not different from who he was outside the jail, and to people outside, as he is also learning. The only difference is that he’s only wearing a yellow shirt.
But the biggest inspiration of Kuya Lucky is Kuya Fred, because of the phrase, “A Man has Hope”. The impact of Kuya Fred’s inspiring story is truly heart-warming, it does not only give enlightenment to the dark world of a PDL, but it also opens the path to resiliency, and grit.
